Who controls the food supply, controls the people and the giant biotech is falling on its weight
Once again the big money from the giant biotech and chemical companies bought another election in favor of giant agribusinesses and Frankenfood companies. ‘Yes on 522’ seems to have lost by a margin of 3%, as the biotech industry poured millions of dollars to convince the voters that’s it’s none of their business what they are eating.
This is when more than 60 countries have required GMOs to be labeled and 30 other countries have banned GMOs and more and more countries are putting more restricted laws on genetically modified foods. But in the United States, we simply cannot even label GMOs, since in every single election the big money from biotech spends millions of dollars to buy people’s vote.
Recently, 90 well-respected scientists and researchers across the country stated that there is no scientific unanimity that genetically modified foods and crops are safe. However, many of them did mention that there is significant concern that genetic engineering can result in spread of diseases (like allergies, cancer and organ failure) and pathogens in our soil and food supply. http://www.seattleorganicrestaurants.com/vegan-whole-food/world-food-prize-goes-to-Monsanto-Syngenta-scientists-say-there-no-scientific-consensus-on-gmo-safety.php
"Who controls the food supply controls the people; who controls the energy can control whole continents; who controls money can control the world" ~-Henry Kissinger
Isn’t ‘control and power over the lives of millions of people’ the ultimate goal of few corporate elites and top oligarchy that run both major political parties, banks and giant corporations? These corporations and their financial beneficiaries take pride in being a part of democracy while in reality they betray our democracy and spend millions of dollars to buy every single election in this country.
I’m not sure if anyone should be granted that much power since as we all know power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Also, in a democracy the poor will have more power than the rich, because there are more of them, and the will of the majority is supreme. However, 300 people in United States have been given more wealth than the bottom 90 million Americans. The families of these 300 Americans are mostly tied to big money from banks, evil corporations and businesses that are destroying and betraying our democracy.
The giant biotech is falling on its weight:
The organic industry has been booming in the last decade and the sales of organic products have increased from $1 billion in 1990 to $26.7 billion in 2010. This is when the rate of chronic diseases have gone up drastically and many independent studies and research have linked GMOs, pesticides and chemicals in our food supply with a wide range of chronic diseases undermining the health and well-being of our nation.
What’s amazing is the fact that the giant biotech and chemical companies have no choice but to spend millions of dollars to defeat GMO labeling movement in order to keep their poisons hidden in our food supply.
Last year, they spend $46 million in California and this year they had to spend another $23 million in Washington. The fact is that the demand of the public for organic and healthy foods are growing larger and sooner or later Monsanto and their buddies will realize that if they put off one fire in one state, there are 40 other fires that they have to deal with.
Let’s make the lives of these evil and corrupted corporations a nightmare and drag this war along. Let them spend another $30- $40 million dollars in each state, just to keep their poisons hidden in our food supply. Before they know it, they have easily spent $1.6 billion in 40 other states, in order to fight the consumer’s right to know what they are eating.
And after going through all that trouble, what do these companies have achieved? At some point, it’s not worth to spend billions of dollars on a label that the majority of the public is demanding. The biotech and chemical companies have also to deal with an opposition that absolutely hates their FrankenFoods. What are they going to do with this crowd that cannot be bought and sold with money?
The biotech and chemical companies cannot be that naive to think that the opposition will give up that easily. In fact, the biotech dishonest campaigns and dirty tricks to defeat ‘Prop 37’ and ‘I-522’ has already made the opposition a lot stronger and smarter and has drawn more attention to the issues of genetically modified foods. This strong and intelligent opposition is going nowhere and next time they will pursue all their neighbors, friends and families to join the fight and demand their right to know.
On the other hand, the more money the biotech and junk food industry spends on false advertising (to defeat GMO labeling movement), the less money they have to achieve their other goals and expand their power. Let them fall on their own weight, since all their efforts will be dust and air, even if they lose one battle that’s ahead of them in 40 other states. The biotech and chemical companies might win many battles but they would eventually lose the war, as they have already in 30 other countries that have banned GMOs.
These corporations represent a very few corporate elites who stand for economic exploitation, ultimate market domination, abolishing any regulations to protect consumers and increase in environmental pollutions and wastes at the expense of our health and wellbeing. Now it’s time for the people to wake up and unit, because the other side is well-organized, well-financed and united.
Keep in mind that these biotech and chemical companies are the same corporations that built ‘Agent Orange’ that killed more than 400,000 Vietnamese and enjoyed to watch their ‘mushroom cloud’ on top of both cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Don't even assume that they won’t knowingly manufacture products that poison their consumers.
