There are up to 20 chemicals, hormones and antibiotics in milk and Monsanto’s glyphosate is toxic to dairy cows
The mainstream media advertises milk and dairy products as wholesome foods that should be a part of the diet of growing children and pregnant women. Yet, the reality cannot be further from the truth, since studies show that a glass of milk can have up to 20 different chemicals, antibiotics, growth hormones and painkillers.
According to Daily Mail, a study published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry released information that cow’s milk contains traces of anti-inflammatory drugs such as niflumic acid, mefenamic acid, ketoprofen, diclofenac, phenylbutazone, naproxen, flunixin, diclofena. The researchers also discovered hormones (both natural oestrogen and 7-beta-estradiol), antibiotics, anti-fungal drugs, steroids and Anti-malaria drugs (pyrimethamine) in milk and dairy products.
‘We believe this new methodology will help to provide a more effective way of determining the presence of these kinds of contaminants in milk or other products. Food quality control laboratories could use this new tool to detect these drugs before they enter the food chain. This would raise consumers’ awareness and give them the knowledge that food is… harmless, pure, genuine, beneficial to health and free of toxic residues’ said, the author of this study, Dr Ballesteros.
In fact, high levels of antibiotics found in milk and dairy might explain the increase in rate of antibiotic resistant diseases in people. There is also the issue of using bovine growth hormones (rBGH) by big dairy farmers and meat producers for increasing milk production. The cows treated with rBGH/rBST growth hormones are treated with antibiotics since growth hormones can cause painful udder infection in cows.
The reality is that people no longer need prescription drugs since chemicals, antibiotics and painkillers manufactured by big Pharma and biotech are showing in all the parts of the food chain including meat and dairy.
As a matter of fact, the researchers at Portsmouth University found that fish is contaminated with the anti-depressant drug Prozac. The researchers discovered that the drug enters the rivers via sewer system and tinkers and affects fish. More and more studies are showing that different drugs for controlling blood-pressure and cholesterol, antibiotics and pain killers are now showing in the wild life.
A new study published in the Journal of Environmental & Analytical Toxicology reveals that the active ingredient of Monsanto’s best selling herbicide ‘Roundup’ is found in all the dairy cows that were used for the test.
Dr. Monika Kruger and her colleagues investigated the excretion of glyphosate in the urine of 30 cows from 8 different Danish farms. The investigative team looked at blood serum parameters indicative of cytotoxicity as alkaline phosphatase (AP), glutamate dehydrogenase (GLDH), glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT), creatinine kinase CK), nephrotoxicity, (urea, creatine) and cholesterol in each of the urine samples. They also looked at trace minerals such as manganese (Mn), cobalt (Co), selenium (Se), copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn).
The results concluded that different levels of glyphosate were excreted in the urine of all cows and glyphosate had a significant impact on blood parameters of cows. In fact, the researchers found that increased levels of GLDH, GOT and CK in cows could possibly show the effect of glyphosate on liver and muscle cells. They also discovered that high urea levels in some farms could be due to nephrotoxicity of glyphosate.
In conclusion the researchers discovered that “correlations between glyphosate and some of the measured blood serum parameters to CK (R= 0.135), Se (R=-0.188), Co (R= -0,403) and Zn (R=0,175) demonstrate that glyphosate is toxic to the normal metabolism of dairy cows.”
