Is the stress of modern lifestyle taking its toll on your life?
We all live in a very stressful time and millions of people living in modern countries find themselves stressed out, depressed or sick.
The latest statistics show that 33% of the US employees feel extreme stress throughout the day and the level of stress is so high that they cannot sleep at night and many of them suffer from chronic depression and anxiety.
Also, a new research by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that 20% of high school kids have learning difficulties and are diagnosed with ADD or ADHD. As a matter of fact, one in 5 kids between the ages of six to twelve in the US has been diagnosed with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and ADHD.
More disturbingly, many US soldiers who come back home commit suicide and as a result, more soldiers die because of suicide and not combat operations.
Scary enough, more than 12% of teenagers aged 12 or above are taking antidepressant and all have mood altering side effects like suicide thoughts. Women are also more susceptible to depression and according to CDC, 25% of American women between the ages of 40s to 50s are now taking antidepressant.
Also there are millions of other people in US who are taking all kinds of psychiatric drugs and psycho-stimulants while 28% of America adults have drinking problem and 22 million others use illegal drugs including cocaine, heroin, inhalants and hallucinogens.
According to all these statistics and figures, we’ve turned into a nation of drug-takers and drug dealers who depend on different drugs that most often have one or more toxic substances with severe side effects. We are taking all these drugs and damaging and destroying our health only to be able to “deal” with stress and problems of our lives.
But wasn't the 21st century and the modern life style supposed to improve the quality of our lives and our health?
According to CDC report, the use of antidepressant in just the last two decades has increased by 400% and considering that the US population only makes up for 5% of the world population, the use of prescribed drugs in US makes up for two thirds of all psychiatric drugs used globally.
But David Kupelian, an award-winning journalist says "today's relentless economic pressures: high unemployment (the actual rate is at least double that of the "official" government rate), foreclosures and bankruptcies, a stagnant growth rate, 11,000 new people signing up for food stamps every single day, rising taxes for the entire middle class whose net worth is simultaneously shrinking, ever-higher prices for food, gas and other essentials - and overshadowing it all, a galactic national debt burden, courtesy of a wildly out-of-control government unrestrained by either the Constitution or common sense. That, too, is very stressful".
Also, as psychiatrist M. Scott Peck wrote in his best-seller book The Road Less Traveled “Life is difficult, and stress, difficulties, disappointments, accidents, disease, misfortune, cruelty and betrayal - they're unavoidable in this life. Yet, during eras when society and families are stable, unified and fundamentally decent and moral - as, say, America during the 1950s - the stress level for each person is minimized, or at least not compounded by a perverse society. Conversely, when - as is the case today - we have widespread family breakdown, a depraved culture that mocks traditional moral values, a chaotic economy and disintegrating monetary system and a power-mad government dominated by demagogues and sociopaths, the normal stresses of life are greatly multiplied".
However, beside the broken home and broken families here it comes broken dreams of many Americas who were economically hurt recently during a global melt down and experienced foreclosures, bankruptcies and high unemployment rates.
Many people left their friends, homes and families for higher paying jobs and more expensive homes and after they lost it all, the only friend and companion that they had were drugs and alcohol. But can drugs filled with toxic substances and chemicals do anyone any good?
Also as the health researcher Sayer Ji explains one of these antidepressant drugs known as Prozac has high level of toxic fluoride that can cause depression and suicidal thoughts. He also mentions that “perhaps the primary reason why Prozac causes a favorable reaction in those who are treated (poisoned) with it, is that it disassociates that person from the psychospiritual conflicts that they must normally suppress in order to maintain the appearance of sanity and functionality in society, i.e. it is control and not health that is the goal of such "treatment."
How to fight evil and keep daily stress or depression under your control without any need for drugs?
You might have heard that the world peace versus our peace of mind depends on the food we eat. The corporations like Monsanto and DuPont poison everything you eat and their key people are in charge of both FDA and USDA who are supposed to regulate your food. They also pay the members of Congress to vote in their favor to pass laws such as Monsanto’s Protection Act supporting giant biotech and agribusinesses.
The giant agribusinesses insist on genetically modifying more crops and despite all the potential harms and dangers of GMOs, they spend millions of dollars to hide GMOs in our foods supply. On the other hand, the pharmaceutical companies push for more drugs and chemicals that are basically created from tonic herbs but wrapped inside a pill with other toxic additives and harmful chemical preservatives that have little or no nutrients and cause a lot more harm than good. Because believe it or not, being sick is profitable and makes lots of money for giant agribusinesses and pharmaceutical companies.
But human beings are their own worst enemy and their own best friend.
You can argue that we are living in the best of times, also in the worst of times. But, today, thanks to the technology, we have access to useful information via internet.
Also, many people are waking up and realizing that they can manage their stress level and heal many chronic diseases by changing their diet and their lifestyle. Once you become aware, the evil has no longer any impact in your life. That’s why the chemical, biotech and pharmaceutical companies try so hard to fill the internet with thousands of fake documents and absurd statements undermining the importance of healthy and organic living.
Planting your own organic garden is one of the best ways to make sure that you have access to a healthy and nutritional diet. By planting your own garden you can consume foods that are not genetically modified or contaminated with pesticides and herbicides.
If you can’t plant your own garden, shop in your local store instead of big corporations and purchase organic foods instead of processed or GM foods. Look for USDA certified organic to make sure your food has the least contamination.
Adopt a healthy life style and exercise frequently. Walking is one of the best exercises to relax your mind and enhance circulation in the body.
Add a good cleansing program to your diet to get rid of heavy metals including lead, mercury, aluminum and fluoride that are causing many neurological problems and misbehaviors.
Beside investing in a nutritional diet, invest in healthy relationships. Some people are more toxic than heavy metals and toxins so stay away from them and find people that you can really trust and rely on. Investing in a real friendship is an important as investing in a nutritional diet. When times get tough, real friends will always be there for you to give you moral and emotional support.
Keep yourself grounded by performing at least a tough physical workout once a week. Physical labor is the best therapy for reducing stress and improving your emotional and physical health.
Don’t stress out about things you cannot change in your life and instead change your attitude towards them. Also, stay connected to nature and have fun outdoor activities.
