The biotech is raising $11 million to defeat GMO initiative labeling in Washington and Ronald Reagan sold WMDs to Saddam

Many Americans are familiar with the power and influence of the biotech companies and how they are capable of manipulating the truth and deceptive advertising.

The big money from biotech is coming back once again to fight GMO initiative labeling in Washington. Keep in mind that the biotech including Monsanto and DuPont spent $46 million to defeat California Proposition No. 37 last year.

So far, Monsanto has spent $4.5 million against I-522 (GMO labeling ballot in Washington) while DuPont has donated $3.2 million to defeat WA GMO labeling. There also are other biotech and chemical companies including Grocery Manufacturers Association, Dow Agro sciences and Bayer Crop science that have donated money to defeat GMO labeling while backing Monsanto and DuPont.

According to Politico, the executive vice president and chief technology officer of Monsanto, Robb Fraley, said that “the biotech giant is ready to back a campaign against GMO labeling in Washington “for the same reasons we opposed the California initiative”.

“The reason people are funding campaigns for mandatory labeling is because they basically want to get rid of biotech, and they want biotech to suffer the same view as salt or sugar on the label and the science doesn’t support it,” Fraley said.

However, Mr. Fraley forgets to mention that biotech is nothing but bad science shoved down our throat as science and “no one wants GMOs, not even Monsanto’s executive and CEO, since recently, they have been dumping large volumes of Monsanto’s stocks. The battle of GMO-labeling still goes on….

Despite the will of 90% of ALL Americans that want GMOs labeled, the big money from biotech exercises its power by spending millions of dollars to bribe politicians and defeat GMO labeling movement.

While California Prop.37 could only raise $7 million from donations of $20 and $30, the biotech spent $46 million on deceptive advertising to defeat Prop.37. They have also spent millions of dollars to bribe Congress to vote against GMO mandate labeling. The same thing is happening again in Washington and so far, “Yes on I-522” could only raise $3.3 million while “No on 522” has raised about $11 million (nearly four times as much).

But the recent political and economical climate is different in Washington than California in a sense that Washingtonians are more aware of the power of giant biotech and for so long, they have been raising concerns about GM food, in specific GMO salmon.

According to Politico, the spokeswoman for the “Yes on I-522” campaign, Elizabeth Larter, said that “We just don’t have billions of dollars – the corporations have deep pockets” to fund these initiatives, “but what we have are thousands and hundreds of thousands of Washingtonians.”

Lack of principals in the Obama administration and his passive mentality towards GMO labeling:

Lack of principals in the Obama administration has made him an appeaser. While President Obama does one thing, the Brand Obama gets you to believe another. This is the essence of successful advertising. “You buy or do what the advertiser wants because of how they can make you feel. So you are kept in a perpetual state of childishness which is called “junk politics”.

Before the 2008 election, Obama promised GMO labeling, but as soon as he got to the While House, he appointed Monsanto and DuPont’s people in key positions of FDA and USDA and he recently signed Monsanto’s Protection Act. Obama came to power with slogan of ‘change’ but even in his second term; his policies have been anything but ‘change’.

Obama also got elected because he was anti-war, yet, despite the will of majority of Americans he is pursuing another conflict in Syria. It’s so hypocritical of leaders in Washington to accuse Assad’s regime of using chemical weapons while corporations like DuPont and Monsanto bribe the members of Congress to add chemicals in our food and keep GMOs hidden in infant formulas. We should not let the history repeat itself. The same international community that accuse Assad’s regime of using chemical weapon turned a blind eye when Ronald Reagan sold chemical weapons to Saddam during Iran-Iraq war.

The international community that accuse Assad’s regime of using chemical weapons, stayed silent when the neo-conservative hero, “Ronald Reagan” sold chemical and biological weapons to Saddam’s brutal regime during Iran-Iraq war. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2402174/CIA-helped-Saddam-Hussein-make-chemical-weapons-attack-Iran-1988-Ronald-Reagan.html

In fact, US sold weapons to Iraq, but despite what you might hear on the corporate media, the truth is that Iran could have used chemical weapons against Saddam, but they chose not to. The reason we do have international laws at the first place, is to prohibit the use of biochemical and biological weapons by anyone.

However, the chemical and biological weapons including Sarin gas used against Iranians killed more than 20,000 Iranian troops while 30,000 of innocent civilians are still suffering from the side effects of WMDs.

Washington warmongers criticize Assad regime and believe that US should take a stand against use of such prohibited weapons. Recently, Rep. Illeana Ros-Lehtinen of Florida said “We have said as a responsible nation that the use of chemical weapons is prohibited, It is against the norms of international standards and to let something like this go unanswered, I think will weaken our resolve. I know that President Reagan would have never let this happen.”

But as the MSNBC, Lawrence O’Donnell said on his show “Ronald Reagan didn’t just look the other way when Saddam used chemical weapons–he sold the stuff to Saddam, The President of the United States was Saddam Hussein’s drug dealer.”

“That is what the mythical Ronald Reagan would say,” rebuked O’Donnell. “But the real Ronald Reagan said nothing when Saddam Hussein used chemical weapons, chemical weapons that the real Ronald Reagan actually helped him obtain.”
